Tom Arthur MSP visits Hansel

25 April, 2024

We were delighted to welcome Tom Arthur MSP to Hansel on Tuesday 16th April where he met with various team members and supported employees in our social enterprise business, Hansel 3e. Mr Arthur, Minister for Community Wealth and Public Finance, heard about our background and the challenges we currently face and then enjoyed a short tour of the estate including a visit to the Hansel Commercial Laundry and gardens.

Lindy's tearoom, the Hansel Laundry and Grounds Maintenance teams are part of the Hansel social enterprise business, Hansel 3e, which seeks to develop opportunities for people who want to work through a number of routes including Employability and volunteering programmes, supported businesses, and Education and Enterprise programmes.

Tom Arthur, Minister for Community Wealth said: “I was pleased to visit Hansel and see the work they are doing to provide meaningful employment, training opportunities and social support for those who may otherwise be excluded from the workplace. Supported Businesses make a very important contribution not only to the Scottish economy but to individuals and communities across Scotland.”

We appreciate Mr Arthur giving us some of his time to visit and hear about the work we do, in particular to support people into employment.
